TIOS - Westhide, Herefordshire

GP Thomas were approached by TIOS, a behavioral marketing business in 2011 with the desire to develop a state of the art

business centre from existing buildings in need of complete renovation on the Westhide estate.

Project Scope

What made this commercial project unique was the client’s desire to preserve the character and period features of the building whilst providing them with a suitable and noteworthy base for they’re advanced marketing business. By using traditional building techniques coupled with the incorporation of 21st century technology, design and equipment, GP Thomas enabled TIOS to realise their goal, a unique state of the art business centre with the historic period features retained and furnished with the latest technology.

The project involved removing and replacing the entire oak framed roof, the addition of new glazing, renovation of the external skin and internal structural elements – all whilst preserving the key architectural features. The mixture of classic and modern works extremely well – the exposed oak beams with stainless steel and oak staircase and dramatic glazing work fantastically well providing a wonderful exception to drab office environments!

“This was a major project where every detail really mattered. The renovation of this centuries old barn required the retention of character whilst giving it a new lease of life as contemporary offices. GP Thomas listened to our concepts and converted them in to reality. They were on our wavelength throughout and the results, despite many challenges are rather spectacular. We thank them for the care and quality of work they delivered throughout the project”
